General Info

The Kirtan Wallahs lead call-and-response kirtan every Sunday evening, with rare exceptions, at 7pm, at Plaza Kailasa, Suite K. Admission is free and open to all, and donations are welcome. We chant until about 8:45pm and then serve refreshments to those that would like to socialize for awhile. (flyer)

We've only missed a few weeks since we started our Sunday night chanting in June, 2004. We’ve chanted on Halloween, Fourth of July, Christmas, New Year’s, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Oscar night, Superbowl night – basically every Sunday!

In a departure from the past, we will no longer be finding someone to sit in for us when both Monnie and Natesh are out of town. On those occasional Sundays that we will not be chanting, we will post that information on this page (see below). We will also send out an email announcing the cancellation, so you may also sign up for our email list (contact us to be added) to be kept informed that way.

Check back to this page to see what Sunday nights kirtan is NOT happening.

Please not that we will NOT have kirtan this coming Sunday, January 29, in order to not conflict with our good friend Girish who will be leading kirtan starting at 6pm at 7 Centers in a fundraiser for Desert Star School

Instead we will have kirtan this Thursday night, January 26, so please join us.

More info on Girish's event is available here.

If you’re in Sedona on a Sunday night, please come join us!

Plus don't miss our special Chanting in the New Year Bliss of Kirtan which we've now done next door at 7 Centers Yoga Arts for the last eight New Year's Eves.

For all programs, live music and lead chanting are provided by the Kirtan Wallahs, a group of local singers and musicians who lead the chants as a form of seva, or selfless service.

The Bliss of Kirtan is not affiliated with any specific teacher or spiritual path from this tradition. No experience or special vocal talent is necessary. Voluntary donations help with the operating costs of the facility, which is located at 2085 Mountain Road in West Sedona, near the intersection of Shelby and Sunset. (See map.)

The chants are easy to learn and repetition is a key aspect of this chanting. They words are projected on the wall, which makes it easier to follow along. We do both traditional chants and those written by Natesh. Samples of some of the chants can be found here.

We also utilize many other traditional aspects of this form of chanting for our Bliss of Kirtan evenings. The chants are done in a call and response form, and any particular chant will typically last from 20 to 25 minutes, which gives participants an opportunity to go deeply into the chanting experience. The chants usually start slow and the tempo increases over the duration of the chant, often to a very high energy level. Many of the participants are inspired to move with the music and also to dance.

Everyone is welcome to come and have their own experience of the Bliss of Kirtan on Sunday evenings at 7pm at Plaza Kailasa, Suite K, 2085 Mountain Road in West Sedona.

Further details on our kirtan are available here.
