Kirtan and Music Containing or Inspired by Kirtan
There are many others but these are some that we’re familiar with (in alphabetical order). Many have been doing this publicly for quite some time while others have begun producing music more recently. Some have a more traditional sound, while others have brought in more Western elements, including harmonies, Western instruments and other musical genres such as pop, jazz and country.
In addition, there are many wonderful recordings of chanting of sacred texts, mantras, kirtan and bhajans put out by the organizations related to specific teachers in this tradition. There are many such teachers and organizations. Since we can’t “vouch” for all of them, we’ve opted not to list any so as not to offend anyone.
